Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in Oregon and currently attend Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Oregon but currently attend college in Utah. I plan on majoring in one of the business areas, such as accounting, and hope to eventually become an entrepreneur. I love to do physical activities like running, hiking, biking, and skiing, and spend many of my weekends participating in these activities. I was a cross country and track and field athlete all four years of high school and still love to run.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the church being a central element to my life. My family actively attended our church meetings, and both my parents strived to fulfill their callings and responsibilities fervently. Through my parents' examples, I was able to develop an appreciation for the opportunity to sere others through callings. I love the gospel so much because it allows for so many opportunities to help others. I also have seen the blessings that have been poured out upon my family and myself, through obedience to the commandments of God. I am grateful that commandments are given to us to help keep us on the right path and provide clear warnings of the consequences of not abiding by those commandments. I have chosen to stay an active member in the gospel because I know that it was founded on principals of truth and righteousness. I have personally read and studied the Book of Mormon and have come to a conclusion that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I have seen the guidance and blessings that have been given to me through the gospel, and I want to continue to receive that guidance and those blessings. The gospel has been an influential aspect in my life, and I am so grateful for the knowledge and beliefs the gospel has given me.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in my college's student ward and am currently a Sunday School Teacher. I teach a lesson every other week and share insightful comments with my class to help them learn new concepts and principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to teach because it allows me strengthen my testimony while simultaneously strengthening the testimonies of those I teach. I attend my church's weekly Sunday service, and strive to fulfill my callings and other responsibilities the best I can.
