Hi I'm Kevin Butler

I grew up in Southern California. I love Disneyland a lot! I love to play basketball, meet new people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love living in California, but I will be in Washington State for at least the next two years while on my Mormon mission. I am an oldest child in my early 20's. I enjoy the beach and the sun cause California has plenty of it. For me going to a movie is a great way to start a night, or end a night out with some good friends. I worked at a movie theater and think it is the best job ever, but I plan on studying criminal justice and becoming a sharpshooter for the FBI, or some sort of law enforcement agency in the near future. I love to go to Disneyland with friends. If I can I'll will go once a week. Sports are one of my favorite past times, and I love to play basketball and I am a die hard Lakers fan. I also love running no matter how weird that is. I did four years of track and field in High school, so running is engrained in me. I love to go to the gym. If you haven't guessed already I just love being active. Eating is probably my favorite thing to do. I love to try new foods, and I am not really afraid of eating anything new. I'll go out to eat whenever I can it normally depends on if I have the money. I'm super social and love to met new people and once you get to know me I can be super weird, but fun to be around. Or so I am told. I can't wait to continue my life and start a family of my own and become the best husband and father I can be. I love life even the hard times and know that I can make everyone's including my own life a little more optimistic!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in making people happy, and filling their lives with the joy of Christ. I was raised in the church, but had my fair share of struggles along the way. I was diagnosed with a life threatening disease about a year ago, don't worry not contagious, and that really tested my faith. Christ never left me though, His love and my choices through my life helped me to know of the power of His love. I was able to overcome my challenges in life, because I knew He could help me through them. Without the knowledge I have I don't know where I would be in life. I know that this church has made my life better and helped me make the right choices, and will continue to help me make the right choices when I have a family of my own. Everything I do is in God's name, and without Him I would be in a much more terrible place today. I owe Him, and this church my life and can only begin to say how thankful I am.

How I live my faith

I always try to be a bright spot in someones day, I am almost always happy and cheerful, but not to the point where it becomes annoying I hope! Everyone needs a smile once and a while and I try to help make that a reality. I have enjoyed all of my church callings from leading the young men in the church, to helping with the scouting program on Tuesdays. The church has shaped me to be a better person and that shows in my everyday life. I became an eagle scout at the age of 17 and love to do outdoor sports and family activities. Most of all however that best way I live my faith now is my serving Jesus Christ on my two year mission to Washington state. This is the greatest experience of my life and it is shaping me to be a more mature spiritual man centered in the teachings of Christ our savior. This is just one of the ways I can show my appreciation to Him for all He has done for me, I do my best to act as Christ would. To be the best person I can I the eyes of our Lord.
