Hi I'm Lauren

I am an artist of word and music, aspiring conservation biologist, black belt in Chun Kuk Do, and friend. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of four children; I have an older sister who served a mission in Brazil, and my little sister and brother are in high school. I have participated in karate for ten years and absolutely love it. I am a wildlife enthusiast; I literally grew up in a swamp. Best. Childhood. Playground. Ever! I am currently studying zoology and plan to work in a zoo as a public educator once I earn my bachelor's degree. Being paid to teach people and children about the wonderful world Heavenly Father has given us? I honestly can't think of a better job. I am also currently writing a series of books for young adults (not printed yet).

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and relied on my parent's testimony until I was about fourteen and faced one of the hardest times in my life. I felt like I was all alone and everything I knew and loved was falling apart. But it was during that time I learned about how much Christ loves us all and desires to help us in every way He can. I learned of the Atonement's power and was able to overcome my trial. I know He loves us, and if we come unto Him and try our best, He will help us and we can reach our full potential. I know the Book of Mormon and this church is true, and that we can have eternal families that last beyond the grave. I also know that through the Atonement, we can rise above our mistakes and be forgiven. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us, and if we act on that love, we can achieve eternal happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a secretary for our women's group at church. It is a little hard, but I love serving the women in our church and getting to know them better. I was also an assistant karate instructor back in S.C. at the best dojo ever...I may be a little biased, haha! I have recently accepted my call to serve the people of the Las Vegas West Mission. I intend to serve these wonderful people with all of my heart, mind, and strength, and I am excited to be able to spread the gospel in Spanish.
