Hi I'm Annie

I am a physicist. I compose music. I love parkour and Martial Arts, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I am a college student going to BYU. My major is applied physics, but I love to do more than just academia. I have been doing Taekwondo for over 2 years, and I have also been doing Jiu Jitsu for about one year now. In addition to martial arts, I enjoy acrobatics and Parkour. I'll go with a bunch of my buddies to a tumble gym to practice new vaults and wall climbs. I enjoy improving my physical abilities and pushing the limits of what I can do. Another hobby I enjoy is music composition. I taught myself piano when I was 12 years old, and I have been composing music ever since.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it is true. You cannot deny the evidence of the truthfulness and the existence and the reality of the gospel. It is real, and clear, and evident. Jesus Christ is a real, living being. He really exists and he truly was sacrificed to save all mankind. My conversion was very gradual. I never got a screaming, clear-as-day revelation from Heavenly Father that told me the church is true. But over time I came to know my Savior. Over time, through diligence, keeping the commandments, and doing the little things every day, did I notice differences and changes in who I was becoming. I had a lot of little confirmations, and little spiritual experiences that combined to form a vast and undeniable knowledge that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church with the fullness of the gospel. That my Heavenly Father loves me. That I am a daughter of God. That the Savior is my big brother, and that he loves me too. He loves me so much, that he died for me, so that I could live again. I know that I can return to Him and my Heavenly Father again one day if I live by His commandments. I love my Savior, I love my Father in Heaven, and I love the gospel. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to emulate my Savior, Jesus Christ. The best way to do this is service. The LDS church provides a plethora of programs that facilitates people to do service for others. In every ward I have lived in, I have been given a calling. In my home ward I was asked to serve other members by teaching fundamental gospel doctrine to new converts. Throughout my college life, I've lived in a few wards and most of my callings have been music oriented. I have been asked to play piano, and to direct music for the ward and for smaller classes. Currently though, I have been asked to be a Family History consultant - I help people use family history websites and search tools to find family members so we can take their names to the temple and do baptisms for the dead and do other ordinances for them. I am also planning on serving an 18 month mission for my church.
