Hi I'm Tiera

I'm a poet, ocean dreamer, and an adventure seeker. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Adventure is my middle name, But poetry is my true game! Making mermaid tails night, And finding joy in God's light! A new mission is in store, To share this gospel evermore! I just love making rhymes, even though some of them might be a little silly. I feel that poetry is the window to the soul and that through this window we can share our deepest thoughts with others. Not only do I love writing, but I just can't stay indoors! I need to go and discover new things; from climbing trees, to rock-climbing, to going deep beneath the ocean's surface. I love the ocean! The fascinating creatures, the beautiful anemones and corals, and the way the waves crest and fall in perfect rhythm. In fact, I actually have a job making mermaid tails! My dream is to become a scuba diving instructor and take others on adventures to discover God's beautiful creations!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raised in the Mormon church, I knew that I had to decide for myself if I really believed in this gospel. I remember as a teenager I was praying to know if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith really did translate it. When I finished my prayer I felt no different. Disheartened I went on my way, confused and concerned...wondering if everything I had learned about was a lie. Then the next day, as I was reading the Book of Mormon, I was overcome with a warm feeling and the words, "You've always known it was true" came to my mind. I didn't realize I had a testimony of this gospel, so, exercising my faith, I kept moving forward with trust in God: and He answered my prayer according to His timing.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This consists of 18 months of being away from home and teaching people from all backgrounds that there is a God in heaven, He loves us, and we are His children. Each day in preparation I think about what I can do to become closer to God and to become more Christlike. This is truly a wonderful journey that I will be on for the rest of my life.
