Hi I'm Sorella Jorgenson

Hi, I'm Sorella Jorgenson! I'm from California, I'm a Mormon, and I'm currently a missionary serving in the Italy Milan Mission.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California, so I love the beach, Disneyland, and of course, In-N-Out. I'm the oldest of six children and I'm currently studying English literature at a university in Utah. Even though Utah isn't the same as California, I love all of the outdoor things I can do here, like hiking and rock climbing. I love living in different countries and experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. I enjoy reading, running, and trying new foods. I love to laugh, especially with the people I love. I'm always planning ahead for my next big adventure. I'm very focused and passionate about the things I believe in and the type of person I want to be. I am currently serving a mission in Italy Milan.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because this is what makes me happy. Sometimes I have questions or doubts, and sometimes things don't make sense, but as I've grown in the Gospel, I've come to realize that the core parts of the Gospel bring me joy. Things like the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Happiness are so pure and special to me. I've felt the power and influence of these doctrines in my life, and I can't deny those powerful feelings of confirmation from the Holy Ghost. I might not have all the answers now, but I believe in a loving Heavenly Father and I believe that this is where He wants me to be. Through this Gospel my family can be together forever and any future family I have holds that same promise. I believe in Christ and I am proud to be a witness and representative of my Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making it an integral part of my life. That means doing the basic things every day that bring me closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Little things like meaningful scripture study, sincere prayers, and regular temple attendance bring the Spirit into my life and help me find peace and comfort when I'm faced with hard trials or decisions. Within my ward, I try to serve wherever I'm needed. Right now that means helping out with the music. I love to play the piano, and even though it's sometimes intimidating to play in front of all my peers, I know that music brings an important spiritual aspect to our meetings and that it makes Heavenly Father happy. Currently, my favorite thing that I do to live my faith is visiting teaching. My visiting teaching companion and I visit two girls each month, and I love listening to them and sharing a specific message with them. I love those girls so much, and I can feel the Spirit so strongly whenever we visit with them. Knowing that I am able to provide them with extra support and love, especially when they need it the most, reaffirms my faith and brings my life more in alignment with what Heavenly Father wants for me.
