Hi I'm Jessica

I love to be adventurous. I want to be an Elementary School teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to school at Utah State University and I am trying to get into the Elementary Education program. I am preparing to go on an 18 month mission to serve the people in Montana on May 27th. I love to play pretty much any sport, but I especially love to run. I have run 4 half marathons, 1 Ragnar, and 2 triathlons. It is my goal to run all of the different Ragnars around America and run a full marathon after I get back from my mission in Montana.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me peace, hope, and happiness in my life. I was raised in the church so I have always gone to church and have followed my parents footsteps in reading my scriptures and praying. It wasn't until I was older that I really had a testimony of my own. I often think about why I believe in the things that I do. After pondering about this I have realized that it all comes down to the spirit that I have felt when I go to church, read my scriptures, and pray to my Heavenly Father. There have been countless times that I have felt the Holy Ghost bearing witness that this is the true church. Living the teachings of Jesus Christ bring me joy because I know that through the atonement everything can be made whole. I know that when I am going through a hard time I am not alone because Jesus Christ has felt every temptation, emotion, and pain that I have felt. Through the atonement I can continue to start over. No matter how many times I mess up, I can repent and try to be better. I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me so much. God has a plan specifically for me and only wants me to be happy. I don't always understand why things happen the way they do, but I have a very strong testimony that everything happens for a reason. I am so grateful to have this gospel in my life. I don't know where I would be without it. I love that the gospel can answer these questions: Where did I come from? What is my purpose on Earth? Where am I going? I know without a doubt that this is the true church. I continue to follow His gospel because it brings me happiness and I know that it can to you too.

How I live my faith

I am a part of the young single adult ward in Logan, Utah. My calling is the activities coordinator, so I am in charge of organizing and planning events for the women in my ward. I enjoy planning these activities because I feel like it brings me closer to the women in my ward. I also have the privilege of being a visiting teacher so I am responsible to help a couple of women feel welcomed and feel that they have a friend. I look for ways to serve them.
