Hi I'm Sadie Hughes

If I can make a person smile (or better, laugh) yay! I love yoga and running and exploring God's beautiful creation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just really happy, so I like to make others happy. I did ballet for about 13 years, I love going running, yoga-ing it up, and reading a good book out on the patio in the sun! People are the best part of life! If I could, I'd spend 24/7 playing with my silly nieces and nephews, meeting new people, talking and playing games with my family and friends, and visiting elderly people at a local retirement home. I've learned that life is meant to be savored, and how can we do that if we don't love what's in it??? I love going on trips with my family. (And since I'm the last of 5, I go on ALL the trips with my parents!) My favorite places have been San Diego and Oregon (I still haven't left the country...) I'm about to spend 18 months in the Texas Lubbock Mission and have never felt such excitement! I love sunsets, snowfall, rainstorms and all those beautiful little moments that God places in our paths just to make us smile!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it's the gospel of Jesus Christ that has made my life a happy one instead of one that isn't satisfying. I'm a Mormon because when I read the words from the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and revelation given to modern prophets, I feel uplifted. I become even more sure that their words are true. I'm a Mormon because this gospel encourages everyone to be the best they can be in more respects than one. The gospel encourages faith in the Lord and all of His teachings. Those teachings reach the span of so many topics. He wants me to gain an education, to have a family, to serve others and to do so many other things that no one can argue to be good. He is good. I want to be good. Therefore, I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through love. I love people, I love the Lord, I love the scriptures, and I try everyday to love myself (because we all know how hard that is). I have learned that if you want to be able to continue living your faith, you have to ACT. Feeling certain feelings isn't enough. It's doing something to show or share those feelings that strengthens yourself and those in your path. I do all I can to better myself, meaning I try more everyday to become more like my beloved Savior. I have setbacks. I have days where I think I've failed. But I turn to the Lord, and He lifts me back up, ready to fight the next battle with me, encouraging me to try again! I live my faith by learning to be who the Lord wants and needs me to be.
