Hi I'm Erika Reeder

I was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I am currently a student at BYU-Idaho, and Im majoring in early childhood special education.

About Me

I'm currently a student at BYU-Idaho. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, cooking, hiking, photography, walking around the river, fishing, iceskating, bowling, watching movies, rollerskating, and serving the Lords children.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has played a important role in my life. It has given me strength to endure my hard struggles. It has given me hope and happiness. I know that this church is true. I know that Heavenly Father loves all of his children. We are all of worth in the Lords eyes. I have a testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ atoned for our sins so that we could live with our Father in heaven again someday. We have been given the gift of when we make mistakes in our life, we can repent for the mistakes that we have made in this life. It is through the atonement where we can be saved. It is important to understand that when we make a mistake hope is not lost. We must keep moving forward in faith. When we are lost or confused the Lord will give us his hand and direct us in paths where we need to be. The Lord will always be by are side when we need it the most. He will give you the strength that you need. I know that when we lose ourselves in service, we can feel God's love for us. I know that the book of Mormon is true, as we study the words of we can become closer to the Lord.

How I live my faith

Faith is to hope for things which are not seen, but which are true (Heb. 11:1; Alma 32:21), and must be centered in Jesus Christ in order to produce salvation. To have faith is to have confidence in something or someone. In August 2014 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I was scheduled to have surgery in October. October was my test of trial. I was going through some other struggles in my life. I would often ask my Heavenly Father what it was that he wanted me to learn from this. I felt that I was going to die. I did not really feel that the Lord loved me. The day of the surgery I said many prayers. I was really scared. I remember as they were preparing me for surgery, I had no more fear. I could feel peace in my heart that everything was going to be okay. I could feel the spirit strongly that day. The spirit wanted me to know that my Heavenly Father does love. As I woke up from my surgery, I asked how my surgery went. She told me that I was very strong. I knew that the Lord had blessed me that day.
