Hi I'm Christine

I grew up in Idaho. I play the violin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary currently at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, USA. I am learning Italian and I am preparing to teach the gospel in the Rome Italy area for 18 months. I am so psyched to learn how to make Italian food so I can impress my family and friends when I get home! Previous to my mission, I was a student at Brigham Young University also in Provo, Utah USA. I was previously an advertising major at school although I am looking into studying either public relations or violin performance. Hopefully I will have a better idea of what I would like to do when I get back from Italy. I also love movie quotes, watching march madness (I make prize-winning brackets!) and just laughing and smiling a lot! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I remember being only 12 years old when I grasped a small portion of how much the Lord loved me. I was watching a group of 12-18 year olds putting on a program full of musical numbers, narration, and videos. It was great! I sat there quietly listening when the choir said the lines, "I know my Savior loves me." In that moment I had never felt greater love. It was like someone had wrapped a huge blanket around me and gave me the warmest hug ever! I find that love regularly when I go to church, read the Book of Mormon, pray to my Father in Heaven, and listen to the prophet and apostles' teachings. Ever since I have felt a love so great, there's nothing that can compare.

How I live my faith

I don't even know who I am yet, but I know that I am strongly rooted in the Lord. The best way for me to stay strongly rooted in the Lord is to act. As a missionary, we spend the whole time serving. Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ including ourselves. Christ endlessly served the people around Him and so I am on a mission to serve as Christ did so I can come unto Christ. I am far from perfect, far from success or fame, but every day I serve. That is how I live my faith.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is when Jesus Christ came down to earth and suffered for our sins. What that means is that after we make a mistake, we can go through the repentance process to make peace with the mistake we have made. Often repentance is praying, making up for the mistake, and deciding to never do it again although it may require more depending on how big the sin was. Because Christ already suffered for our sins, we can have that sin erased. We will be able to move on and strive to become like Christ. Yes, Jesus Christ did have to sacrifice His life. By doing that, He conquered death and opened up the path for us to return home to our Heavenly Father after death. He made the ultimate sacrifice because of His great love for us. Show more Show less
