Hi I'm Malik Vano

I Love Rugby, I Love My Culture and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Kia Ora! Ko Malik Toku Ingoa. I'm 19 years of age, I'm the oldest of 6 and I was born in a small town called Tokoroa, New Zealand. I'm the first ever to serve a mission in my family. I grew up Seventh day Adventist/ LDS, I've always loved serving people because it has given me so much joy. I've decided to serve a 2 year mission for the church and will be serving in The Great Utah Salt Lake City Mission. Rugby and sports all together is just the norm for my family and I. January 31st 2014 i left for Arizona, playing rugby for a club team called Red Mountain Knights, I played all the way up until October 2014 but before heading back to New Zealand i went to Disney World, ESPN Worldwide Sports Center and played in the National Championship touch Rugby for USA. Soon after i had returned to New Zealand i got a letter that said I was going to play 7s Rugby for Arizona in Las Vegas, Nevada. So January of 2015 i jumped back on the plane and traveled to Arizona to play 7s. We didn't win, but I did manage to get two state championships and one National championship for both high school and U.S.A which was cool. I'm the youngest player ever to play for U.S.A in the World Cup for Touch Rugby in Coffs Harbor Australia. I've traveled somewhat around the world and would love to explore more and more as life goes on.

Why I am a Mormon

I never chose to be Mormon because of my mum or my friends and family at church. I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints because i believe in life after death and i know without a doubt that i can live with my family again after i die. its so scary to think of dying but the gospel and the church gives me comfort and gives me assurance that everything is going to be okay. my father is a non member and loves his church that he goes to, although we dont share the same beliefs i still love him and still try to be there for him when he needs me. hes currently in a wheelchair and had a Tuma removed from his spine. I love him so much and want the best for him, but i cant change him and nobody else can, but the only person who can, and who changed me is Jesus Christ and the spirit.

How I live my faith

by seeing everyone as Heavenly father would see them as. also serving in my home ward or even on a mission is a great way for me to show my love for god. I am more happier when i serve other people. i live my faith by trying my best to love everyone and to simply just living the gospel, there is no other way to have joy, peace and happiness in this life and in the next than living the gospel or living my faith.
