Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a very happy mom of 7, grandma of 23, wife, daughter, sister & friend!

About Me

I grew up with a wonderful mom & dad & siblings who were my best friends. Our home was filled with a lot of joy & I felt as I grew that I wanted to one day have a family just like it. I wanted 6 kids like my mom & maybe 1 more because life was so fun growing up together. I attended BYU, met a great man, married & we started a family of our own. Our home too has been filled joy. One thing I should add is that in my family now & growing up, nobody's perfect! We all have our ups & downs, our trials & struggles, frustrations, but we all feel blessed to have a great bond & love for one another & strong family ties. I feel like these blessings come by trying to live the gospel of Jesus Christ & from committed parents working hard at their marriage & family, constantly teaching their children what is important in life & passing on what they believe. I will be forever grateful for my own parents & their never ending love, their examples, the faith they lived & were able to help to instill in me & in our family. This has blessed my life so much. It is a wonderful thing to have our children grow & be great friends, love to be together, & quick to help each other. We have raised 7 kids; six are married to wonderful people with families of their own. We are blessed with 23 beautiful grandchildren. Our youngest daughter is now serving a mission in Texas, sharing with all the people she meets of our Heavenly Father & Savior's love & plan, & the joys of living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon partly because I’ve been born into a long line of faithful Latter-day Saints. Starting with those ancestors who first heard missionaries share the truths of the gospel with them. They lived it & loved it & passed it down to their children, on down to my parents and to me. We have strong testimonies that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly the Lord’s church again on the earth today. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life. It has brought me so much peace & happiness. It has blessed all of my family with direction that helps us find joy in this life & the knowledge our family can be forever. I desire this with all of my heart & my family does too. As we strive to reach this goal together it helps us stay strong & make choices daily that can help us gain this wonderful blessing promised to all that will remain faithful & choose to be sealed in the temple of God. We are so grateful for prophets, all through the ages who have shared their knowledge of our Heavenly Father & our Savior & their plan of happiness for us. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, who helped restore the gospel to the earth today & we are still led by a prophet of God, Thomas S. Monson. I am so thankful for the Bible & the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is true & will bless all who read & study it. I know that our Heavenly Father lives & loves us & that we are all His children. I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ lives too & I'm so thankful for His life & example & His loving Atonement. Because of Him, I know that this life is not the end! He has made repentance possible & anyone can change if they will turn to Him. I know that His gospel will bless the life of everyone who will strive to live it with all of their heart. I feel like it is the secret to happiness only it’s not a secret! It’s God’s plan of happiness for His children. I will be forever grateful to have this knowledge & all of it's blessings in my life.

How I live my faith

My faith is such a big part of me and my life. I try to live it with all of my heart. I pray everyday and strive to read the scriptures everyday too. So many wonderful blessings I feel come into my life from staying close to my Heavenly Father and my Savior and to study their teachings and feel of their love daily. I have raised my family in this way too, praying and reading the scriptures together and having one night of the week be a special Family Night where we are able to again share with our children what we believe and also have fun together. We love to attend church each week and feel of the beautiful spirit there as we join to….. worship together along with our “ward family.” Our ward is made up of caring, good people who love and serve the Lord and one another. In our faith, no one is paid for their church service but we each hold callings to help to teach and strengthen one another. We look after one another too and when someone has a struggle to deal with others all work together to try to help and lighten their load. It’s a sweet feeling, knowing others care and will come to your aid when you need them. I try to love and serve my family and others every day and look for ways I can uplift and bless others.
