Hi I'm Rebekah

I am preparing to serve a mission in Chile. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read. I love to sing. I love to play the piano and flute. I love food, especially fruits. I graduated last year from High School and spent a semester of college at BYU-Idaho. I leave for a year and a half to serve the Lord in Antofagasta, Chile. I am the oldest girl in my family. I have two older brothers, two younger brothers and two younger sister, all of whom I love dearly.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS Church. I was taught by my parents the basic principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been a very big part of how I've lived my life. There have been times when I have doubted my faith but I always think back to an experience I had my junior year of high school helps me remember why I am a Mormon. I had been having a bad day and as I was coming home from work I was singing a song that I had learned as a small child. This song talks of the beauty of the world and how our Father in Heaven created it for us. In the second verse of this song it talks of how God gave me eyes to see, ears to hear, a life to live, a heart and a mind. Then the song says these words, "I know Heavenly Father loves me." When I sang these words that day I suddenly felt as though I were being hugged. I was encircled about by warmth and felt an overwhelming feeling of love that brought me to tears. My Heavenly Father loved me!! He loved me and He wanted me to know that! Ever since that day, whenever I find myself doubting, or I find myself full of fear I remember that experience and I pray to my loving Heavenly Father to help me overcome. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and I know that it is because of that love that He sent His son Jesus Christ to the earth and allowed him to atone for the sins of the world. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son," (John 3:2). This knowledge has helped me push through some hard times in my life. If there is one thing for sure that I know it is that my Heavenly Father loves me.

How I live my faith

I love to serve not only in my church but in my community as well. I serve as a visiting teacher and I get the opportunity each month to visit other women of my church and serve them. These women have become my friends and I love them. I also love to serve in my community by doing voluntary community service and reaching out in anyway I can to serve my community. I also love to participate in local blood drives even though they are not my absolute favorite.
