Hi I'm Collin DeWitt

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a retired fire chief and city manager. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Arizona most of my life. I've been married for 44 years and have 6 children and 24 grandchildren. I served a mission for the LDS church in Northern Mexico as a young man and am about to serve another mission with my wife in the Caribbean. I spent 40 years in the fire service in Arizona and went through the ranks in the Phoenix Fire Department and then became the Fire Chief in Gilbert, Arizona. During my 14 years in the Gilbert department I was asked to serve as the Gilbert city manager. My wife and I love to travel and have been to many corners of the earth. I love to fly fish.

Why I am a Mormon

I have pioneer ancestors that were sent to the Arizona area to settle. Their personal stories of hardship and sacrifice have always inspired me to hold fast to the teachings of the LDS religion. Their testimony, as it was borne, has become my own testimony and mine has become my children's and grandchildren's.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the young men's leader. Working with the young men in my area provides lots of opportunities for their growth as well as mine. We are currently taking the last steps for 2 of our young men to receive their Eagle Scout awards and, this summer, to leave on their respective church missions. It pleases me that we'll all be out on our missions at the same time.
