Hi I'm McKenna

I'm from Utah, USA, I teach gymnastics. I'm going to school to be a mechanical engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school last year and I'm going to school for mechanical engineering. Puzzles and problem solving interest me. I love to ski, it is my favorite thing to do outside, so I love winter. Any winter sports really. I grew up in Utah, and love it here. I played lacrosse in high school, and I sang in the show choir, which I very much enjoyed. I still love to sing, and play the piano. I have one older sister and one younger brother. I love my family and am very close with all of them. I teach gymnastics to ages ranging from three years old to twelve years old, which is the best job ever. I love to be around the little kids. One of my goals in life is to travel and see art history cites in Europe. I took an art history class in high school and ever since then I've wanted to see the art that we studied. I enjoy both learning about and making art. I grew up camping in various places here in Utah, as well as Yellowstone and other national parks around the state. I have always liked being in nature and the outdoors. Oh, and I have a soft spot for Disney :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have never found so much joy anywhere else. Not only do I feel good about the way I live my life (through following the standards set by the church), but I know my purpose in life. I have been blessed enough to have been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. Although I have known the church my whole life, I have come to know of the truth that the church brings for myself through prayer, faith, and action. I know that all things are possible through our savior, Jesus Christ, and we will never be given trials we cannot overcome. I know that through the grace of the Atonement, we are able to be forgiven of our sins. I know that it is never too late to repent and be forgiven, and these concepts have blessed my life. I know that through the plan of our redeemer, Jesus Christ, we can have eternal families and marriages. I know that we will see our loved ones after death. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, a record of his ministry in the Americas. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to translate and bring about this book, so we might have it today. I feel of it's truthfulness as I read it and pray to know if it's teachings are true. I know that if we ever have problems or questions, we can ask our Heavenly Father with a sincere desire, and have our prayers answered. I said earlier that I love the joy that the church brings to my life, and that joy comes from service and knowledge that brings peace to me. I want others to know of this joy, and hope that those who have questions about the Mormons, will ask!

How I live my faith

I try my best to go toall my church meetings every Sunday. I lead the music every week for the congregation and I love it because I love the hymns and music. I attended seminary all throughout high school, and served as a class president several times. I was also on a youth committee for my church, in which I helped plan a cultural event for the youth in my area. I try to read and study my scriptures everyday and follow the standards that the church has set.
