Hi I'm Joey

I was raised in Idaho. I compete on a drumline. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I am majoring in Physics, with an emphasis in Astronomy. I was on a competitive drumline. I love the marimba. I am a missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I believe its teachings are true. The more I learn about the sciences, the more I believe that this is the way God chooses to operate. The discoveries and theories I learn about follow what I have learned about in this gospel, and they match up in every way. To me everything makes sense. I love the Book of Mormon; I love the doctrine. I grew up in this faith, but I have come to a knowledge of its truth, and it has been a great comfort to me. It helps me to know my purpose in life, why our decisions matter.

How I live my faith

Consistency is key to competence. I strive to pray every day, and to maintain regular scripture study. Right now I am a missionary in Oklahoma. Before I left I was an FHE "Dad" of a group of students at BYU-I. This means that I helped to organize family home evening, which we did every Monday evening. I also spent a summer as the drummer in the Nauvoo Brass Band, where we spread the gospel through music in the streets of Historic Nauvoo.
