Hi I'm Aitana Alapa

I'm a Polynesian. I love music. Called to serve in Cavite, Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Aloha! My name is Aitana. I'm a Polynesian and proud. I just recently finished my Freshman Year at BYU Provo and have now been called to serve a mission in Cavite, Philippines. I am the oldest of six kids and my family is very well known for our music. I've been performing ever since I was very young and continue to perform to this day. I love music. It is my passion and to be able to share the gospel through music all my life by singing with my family at firesides, missionary farewells, fundraisers, and much more has been such a blessing to me everyday. It definitely helped me to draw nearer and closer to Christ by feeling His love through music and just being a part of this gospel daily. I know it, I live it, I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm one who has grown up in the church and has been a member my whole life. I can honestly testify this gospel is definitely what keeps me going daily. It helps me make decisions from choosing which classes to take to even figuring out what step I need to take to be successful in my life today. I have been blessed with a family that loves and lives the gospel. Now, I'm not saying I'm perfect--because I can also attest to some really challenging times in my life as well. I'm going to be honest, but it is hard to be a Mormon. Some say we look like we have it all figured out and that we're just happy all the time and perfect--but that's not the case. We may not be perfect, nobody is, but we strive to be as close to perfect as our Savior Jesus Christ is. He is the PRIME example of what we all want to become. He is the reason why I make sure and strive to be a light to those around me, and it isn't easy. As a Mormon, there are many times in our life where we have to stand alone. Sometimes their are those who follow, but there are also times when there is no one at all. But that's okay. I like to "choose Happiness" in the rough-patch, tough situations. I like to think, and I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and that I shouldn't be worried. He has a plan. If I just follow the guidelines He has set for me to keep me safe and ready to meet Him again, I will be able to succeed in life. That's why we're happy. We choose to be, even though this thing called "life" is so hard. We get through it though. With Heavenly Father and our Savior on our side and the blessings of the Atonement--we have been truly blessed. I am grateful for this gospel and all that it's been able to bless my life with. I want to bask in it and share it with others for the rest of my life! I love this gospel! I know it. I live it. I LOVE IT!!!

How I live my faith

Growing up, I've been heavily involved in music and performing with my family. A little background about my family is that we have always been really into missionary work. My great grandfather was able to serve ten missions in his lifetime and have passed that passion and love for missionary work all the way down to us now. Something our family have done ever since I was little is invite those that are not of our faith and teach them the wonderful blessings of our gospel and what it's about as well. My family always is able to sing powerful songs that bring the spirit into the room and is our way of sharing our testimony of this gospel and why we love it so much. It has been such an honor and blessing to be able to share my belief through music because I believe music touches and speaks to people in ways that words can't at times.
