Hi I'm Hermana Kingsley

I grew up all over the world. I love training horses. I'm a full-time missionary. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hey! my name is Betsy. I'm 21 years old, and I'm a missionary serving in Richmond Virginia Spanish-speaking. I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I am ever so grateful for the sacrifices that my parents made for me to be able to say that with such confidence and pride. My dad has served in the Air Force all of my life and because of that, I've lived in many different countries and states and met many different people whom I've come to love. I'm #9 of ten children. Yeah. I have no idea how they did it. haha They're strong people. Some of my favorite things in the world to do are jet skiing, backpacking, camping, bonfires, and HORSEBACK RIDING!!! Really anything outside I just love!

Why I am a Mormon

As a member who was raised being taught the gospel in it's complete form, and never being a part of any other church, doubts often crept into my mind. I thought things like, "Is this really true? Do I really believe this, or is it just what's most comfortable for me?" I wondered about and doubted spiritual confirmations that I had experienced, and started denying, to myself, that they were real. It's hard to fight those thoughts when you were raised learning from one source. But the truth of the matter is, thoughts and doubts will arise within everyone, and it doesn't matter how or where they were raised. It is in our nature to seek out truth and want to be certain that we are on the right path. We were divinely created that way. Because of that divine nature that I have been given, i did seek out truth. I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. I'm Mormon because it makes me happy. I am a Mormon because I love my savior and I want to follow Him.

How I live my faith

Before my mission I participated in a lot of various activities in the church and community, in trying to help other people come unto Christ. I loved volunteering in the community, at children's shelters especially, and being able to tell people that I was a member of the church. Now, I understand that the most important thing I've done thus far in my life is made the decision to serve a full-time mission. As a missionary I have devoted myself to the service of the Lord. I am His representative and as such, I teach and help others in His name. I have been specifically called to serve the Latin-American people living in the Richmond Virginia area. It is such a blessing. I will serve for 18 months in total, and I have already received more blessings than I have given sacrifices!
