Hi I'm Tanner Andrew

I was born in Utah and grew up in just that state, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, living only a few blocks from the same place. I went to school doing the IB program, but for the most part I spent my time playing video games and doing debate. Yes I was a nerd in almost every way while still keeping a good social life. I really like to think of myself as a lover of games and entertainment in almost every form that I could find. Personally I loved to play all types of games, and started to play a few more than just the simple. I started to play smash bros competitively in my free time. It was great to get to be in action and get focused and take down my opponents with all the abilities that I could use at that moment. I loved playing and working with my partner to win matches and win all that I could. This only was my hobby in the free time while I was getting ready to go on a mission, but during school I was busy with Debate as I did with my friends. I worked hard and with it I placed very well and worked so hard that each year I made it to state and placed pretty well as I worked hard.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this church is the true church, and that is why I am a Mormon, but that could be explained more fully. I was born in the LDS church to two devout parents that have always tried there hardest to teach me about the gospel and about everything that I need to know. Though my parents were great I didn't really learn more than facts about the scriptures and the like, where what I was looking for was a great feeling that would make me believe the church was true. I pulled away from the church and did things that now I would regret, but the story I want to tell is how I changed for the better. During this time of problems I felt inspired to go and get a patriarchal blessing, which is where a local patriarch who was called of god gives you a blessing that is set apart just for you. This blessing was so a reflection of what I needed to hear and the things that it said were so real about me that this one man or anyone not me could say. I understood that at that moment this church was true and started the growth of my testimony to what it is today. I know that God the Father lives and loves us all because we are his sons and daughters literally. I know that Jesus Christ lived and suffered all our sins so that we may be given the opportunity to be forgiven for them. I know that Jesus Christ died and then rose again so that we may in the time of the second coming rise like he did. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who restored the gospel to us in these latter days. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon, which I know is another true testament of Christ. I know that we still have living prophets and leaders that are given inspiration to guide us.

How I live my faith

I love being in the LDS church and participating in all my meetings. One thing that I do is go to meetings each Sunday for about three hours, but I really don't feel that it is too long. This time is great spending time hearing from our local leaders, but most importantly my other members. The largest way I live my faith is by growing closer with the church members that I could get to know while I was in the church. We have so many other activities other than just Sunday meeting, like young mens, an activity the young men get together and do each week that allows them to have fun but in a safe environment. All ages do things like this and it really has been a great time to get to both grow in testimony while still having fun with my other church members.
