Hi I'm Joshua Anderson

I grew up in north Georgia. I'm a college student. I'm a missionary in the Alpine German-Speaking Mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a missionary in the Alpine German-Speaking Mission. I grew up in the beautiful hills of north Georgia. I had loving parents and had a good upbringing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In America, I attend a university in Utah. I'm working on obtaining a Bachelor's degree in business management, but I'm not 100% sure that's what I want to do yet. I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I did that for about 7 years. I feel great when I do active things. Things like hiking, going on walks and running make me feel alive. I enjoy playing video games and other things that may be considered nerdy. Spending time with family and friends is just the best. I like to have a good balance in my life. Although that's not always easy, that is what I strive for.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a Mormon because I was born into this religion. I am still a Mormon because God answers prayers. My "conversion" did not truly begin until I was 17 years old. There came I time in my life where I was not sure where I was going and why I was here. I honestly did not want to be helped for a good while. It was a dark time for me. However, that is something that has dramatically changed in my life. Through the efforts of my parents (who knew my struggle) and choice priesthood leaders (who did not know), I was brought to a point where I could let my Savior save me. I know that the Atonement is real because I have felt it. I have experienced a relief to my soul that I will never forget. Christ knows his sheep and finds those that are lost. He found me. I know that my Savior loves me and knows my struggles. What a joy that is! That is the joy I have experienced.

How I live my faith

Well, currently I serve full time as a missionary. I preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I spend my whole day every day trying to help people come closer to Christ. I do that in a few different ways. I teach lessons on topics which focus on Jesus Christ and his role in our lives. I attempt to serve people whenever possible. I try to support the members of the congregation I'm assigned to. Missionary service takes all my time and energy for 2 years. It's worth every minute of it. At home, I serve in whatever capacity I can. I do anything from help clean the meetinghouses to help someone move out of their house. I home teach a widow in my congregation. She has taught me a lot about love and patience. I find it important to continually improve myself in my faith. I do that through the simple, but essential things. Studying the scriptures, Going to church and Praying not only maintain my faith, but strengthen it as well.
