Hi I'm Cal

" I'm a service orientated teen who drives a Motorcycle, and has been called to the Baltic States mission and I'm a Mormon."

About Me

I'm a small town fellow born and raised in southern Utah. At a young age I was taught to work and to serve everyone that I could. I was baptized at the age of 8 by didn't become completely converted to the gospel till about age 14 when I started realizing the impact the church had on my life. I love archery and hunting, my summers were spent on our mountain property bumming around with the family. I'm involved with numerous service organizations and believe service being pure joy, and blesses everyone involved. When I return from my mission in the Baltic States I plan to attend Southern Utah University in Cedar City Utah and start there Pre-Physical Therapy program. I love Played rugby and football in high school but due to an ankle injury was unable to play my senior year. I have 2 sisters and my father is currently an LDS bishop.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and have had the opportunity to be raised in a town with a lot of people who share the same faith as I do. I have been sheltered though my family and my community. The Gospel is in very aspect of my life my friends, family, and neighbors are ether LDS or respect my religious choices. I'm Grateful for my Parents raising me in a place where my testimony of this gospel can grow I love this gospel and love the peace it brings to me and my family. I know that my family can be together forever, no matter what happens in this life my family will always be there for me now and in the here after. I'm so excited to serve a mission to give back to this life changing gospel. I know it sounds Crazy to serve a 2 year mission in a place that I didn't even know existed 6 months ago but I know I will be blessed more than I can even imagine and that my family will be safe from harm and blessed as I serve. I'm a Mormon because I know I’m loved by my heavenly father and he know me by name and wants the best for me I’m a Mormon because of the joy that I experience living this gospel. The only thing I look forward to more than a mission is returning from a mission and having a family of my own. I can’t wait raise my children in the safeguard that is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

As I wake and slide out of bed in the mornings my knees are the first thing to hit the ground from there I communicate with my heavenly father through prayer. After prayer scripture study starts followed by breakfast than I continue through my day looking for opportunity to find joy through friends, the gospel or service. As a ward member I have served in leadership positions that have taught me the important of prayer and planning. I'm a seminary counsel member for my local high school. In February I received my mission call to serve in the Estonian Region of the Baltic Mission. I leave for the MTC on July 15 to preach this wonderful gospel in the Estonian language.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

we are asked to devote all our time efforts and labors to the lord we believe that "faith without work is dead and that we have to continue to serve though out our lives my father is currently the bishop of our ward and he work a 40 hour plus job with another 20+ hour helping people in the ward and preparing for sacrament every week. i think we don't paid clergy because we are an all voluntary church. i know that calling are from our heavenly father and they help us more that we help other in the callings my family is being blessed so much right now because of the work that my father is putting in and that time he is taking out from his life to serve others Show more Show less
