Hi I'm Wayne

I live in Oregon. I'm an Engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been working in the high-tech industry for about 24 years. I've been married to my best friend and wife for the last 27 years. I have two kids, one married and one currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon, and I was raised as a member of the Church. When I was a teenager, through my own personal scripture study and prayer, I felt our Heavenly Father communicating directly to me, telling me that the Book of Mormon was truly the word of God. I served a 2-year mission and during that time, my feelings and belief in the Book of Mormon were confirmed. I know that this church was restored through a true prophet, Joseph Smith. I know that the path to true joy in this life (and the next) is to serve God and obey his commandments.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving as a counselor to the Bishop of our ward. I also serve as a home teacher and try to volunteer to help others in our ward. I've raised my kids by trying to show them honestly how to be a good person and how to do what you believe is right -- even when it's not easy, fun, or convenient.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries are not trying to convince people of what we believe. Their goal is to teach people the truth about the Church of Jesus Christ so that people can make an informed decision for themselves. Missionaries would like to share what they have found that makes them happy so that others may have the opportunity to experience this happiness themselves. Show more Show less
