Hi I'm James

I was born and raised in West Virginia. I now live in Pennsylvania and am newly married. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy being outdoors and doing activities like camping, kayaking, rock climbing, and long boarding. I am attending college to become a Radiation Therapist and potentially one day a Dosimetrist. I was married to my wife in July 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father. He knows and loves each and everyone of us. He knows us personally. I know he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to save us all from sin that we might return to live with him. I choose to be a Mormon because I know Joseph Smith was called to be a Prophet in preparation of the Savior's second coming. Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet of our day and I know him to be chosen of God to lead everyone who would hear his words. I love the Savior and my Heavenly Father so I strive to keep his commandments as well as serving others. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the church of God and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I participate in volunteer groups with my school. I am also involved with teaching the young men in the church. I also openly share with others my beliefs when am asked about my faith.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

James
As the Savior prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, he willingly took upon him the sin of the world. The sins of people past, present and future. This work brought the Lord to bleed from every pore. A pain that brought even the Lord to ask," Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." Luke 22:42. This suffering allowed the Savior to conquer Spiritual Death and to help save us to live with God again. On the Cross, the Savior suffered Physical Death but three days later, was raised from the dead, conquering Physical Death. This allows all to gain a perfect body and helps us enjoy the presence of God and to one day become like Him. These things make up what we know as the Atonement but words can not describe everything the Savior had to go through so that we might live again and enjoy eternal happiness with our Father in Heaven Show more Show less
