Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a returned missionary and a hard working pre-med student studying at BYU Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently am studying at BYU Idaho as a pre medical student because I enjoy nothing more that to help people by finding relief and treatment for their physical ailments. I had also enjoyed serving those on my mission as a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ by helping people recover from their spiritual ailments by coming closer to Christ through His gospel. My interests include hiking, camping and basically anything to do with the outdoors! Also I enjoy practicing and playing music on the piano in my free time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born with parents who were already active members of the Mormon church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and I was baptized at the age of 8. Of course I grew up in the whole Mormon culture and did what I was supposed to and was happily doing it. I had not truly gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon for myself until I got older and much closer to serving a mission. I had to decide for myself if I really did have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the church because I would be dedicating two years of my life to teaching and testifying to others of it's truthfulness. I decided to dedicate myself to study out the Book of Mormon daily and get on my knees each time asking God in the name of Jesus Christ if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was God's prophet on the earth that restored the Christ's church to the earth in these latter days. I can testify with every fiber of my being that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's only true church here on the earth and that Joseph Smith was His prophet to restore the church on the earth and that the Book of Mormon is a second witness, along with the Bible, that Jesus is the Christ and Redeemer of the world. This testimony has helped me on my two year mission and my eternal mission as a representative of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

It is very important to me to live the things of the gospel in every aspect of my life by constantly praying to my Heavenly Father. Also I have learned to find spiritual strength in my life by coming closer to Jesus Christ and His teachings through reading the scriptures on a day to day basis. Since coming home from my mission, I have truly gained a passion for sharing the gospel with those seeking and desiring to know of the truth. I have served in many callings that have helped me grow spiritually in my life. Right now, I enjoy being a part of the missionary work in the ward by reaching out and serving those within our congregation as well as to our friends and neighbors not of our faith. I also have enjoyed playing the organ in church because gospel music is a great way to express our love and praise to God for what He as given us.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe that there is a strong purpose for all of God's children to be here on Earth. Before this life, we were all spirit sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father and dwelt in His presence. Just like our parents want us to be able to grow and have amazing experiences, in order to be the best we can be, so does our Heavenly Father wish for us to progress and become more like Him. Our purpose here on Earth is to be able to gain a body and pass through experiences here on Earth. We have been given the tools such as the ability to choose between right and wrong, families, the scriptures, the priesthood authority of God and the Gospel to aid us on our journey to return to live again in God's presence. It is also important to remember that all of these tools are made possible for us because of the atoning sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By following the commandments, and the other principles of the Gospel, we all have the opportunity to return to live with God and our families for eternity. Show more Show less
