Hi I'm Steve B

I am an adventurer, musician, and a learner!

About Me

For the vast majority of my life I have lived in Alaska and Montana. This being said I LOVE the outdoors: hiking, backpacking, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, and pretty much anything else that gets me out into nature. I also really love learning new things. I am a senior in high school and am one of the few people who have discovered the magic of online schooling. For the past four years I have attended an online high school called Williamsburg Academy. Before high school I was mostly home-schooled giving me lots of flexibility to learn and do the things I am interested in. One of these things is music! I got my first violin when I was seven years old and I fell in love with this instrument. Since then I have been part of orchestras, music festivals, I have learned to play blue grass, and have overall had a lot of fun with this instrument and music in general.

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in the church it would be easy to say that it is just what I do but there is definitely a bigger reason. The reason that I am Mormon is the joy that the gospel and the church brings into my life. I honestly can not start to imagine where I would be without the church. Truth is something that we all seek after to one extent or another and I truly believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's restored gospel and that He leads it today through a living prophet. Having this knowledge I cannot turn away from the church especially after all of the blessings it has brought into my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by consistently doing the seemingly insignificant: serving others, reading scriptures, going to church, and following Christ's example. I also help out in the young men's organization as an assistant to the Bishop. In this position I help plan activities, teach lessons, and lead classes. A big thing coming up in my future of church service is serving a mission: I am going to North Carolina for 2 years to serve and teach the people there.
