Hi I'm Jayne

I grew up in California. I laugh a lot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After high school, I moved 672 miles away from home to a little town called, Provo UT, home of the BYU Cougars. I am currently a student trying to discover my passion/future career. I definitely have a nerdy side that loves to read, and piece together puzzles. On the other hand, I am always down to tear up the town with anyone that wants to have a good time. I love the ocean, and don't mind the mountains. My favorite recreational activity besides tennis is shopping. In travels, I would rather do behind the scene activities then the tourist extravaganzas which is in my future plans. You can do anything you want!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to a private school that taught a different religious faith. I believe it was necessary to help shape me to be the person I am today, and I am forever grateful. What made me truly convert to the LDS faith was once I left that environment and was tried and tested daily when I truly strengthened and clung to gospel concepts. Now that I am away from home, I have come to the realization that when I follow the commandments, and the counsel of prophets that I am truly happy. The other day I was thinking, why I do the things I do? It all came down to happiness. I wanted to be happy. Sometimes we get caught up in the world and think that a certain number of Instagram likes will make us happy. I realized that when I start thinking that way, I need to forget about myself and look to the teachings of the gospel, because that is what will make me really happy. I know that this gospel contains full truth. I have a deep love for the modern prophets and apostles that do what they can to protect us in what can be such a harmful world. I know that one day we can return to heaven and live with our families not just for the rest of our lives, but for ETERNITY! I know Jesus Christ died for me so that I can accidentally fumble, make mistakes, and I still can meet my Heavenly Father and live with him one day. I am eternally grateful for this gospel and the happiness it brings me!

How I live my faith

My current calling in my Singles ward is "Ward Prayer Coordinator." Every Sunday night, the whole ward is invited to kneel in prayer to start the week feeling great! We sing a song, talk about upcoming activities, celebrate birthdays, have activities like paper airplane competitions, musical chairs, and then we end the evening on a spiritual note with a thought and prayer. Another thing that gets me involved in the community is visiting teaching. A good friend and I go visit some other girls down our hall (at the dorms) and help them with whatever they may need that month. It is nice to have someone to always count on.
