Hi I'm Wendy DeWitt

I'm involved in emergency preparedness and created the class "Everything Under the Sun" and "Sensible Food Storage" I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 44 years, have 6 children and 24 grandchildren...so far! I graduated from ASU and teach classes on emergency preparedness. My husband and I love to travel and have been to China, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Costa Rica, Columbia, Peru and many other countries. We love to spend time with our family and find great joy watching our grandchildren becoming honorable men and women. I am especially grateful that my husband was willing to work so hard and allow me to be with our children as they were growing up. Being a full time homemaker wasn't an easy job but it was a job no one else could do. We love our family and know it will be an eternal unit.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the LDS church and have pioneer ancestors that I revere. They sacrificed so much so I would have the blessing and freedom of belonging to this church. I know without this gospel I would not be who I am and would not have what I have. I have an amazing family, a strong, loving marriage and peace in my life. I know this has all come from following my Savior, Jesus Christ and the precepts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

My favorite way of serving in the church and the community is to teach...I love to teach. I have taught gospel principles to children, young adults and adults and I never fail to learn more than they do. Early in my marriage I became involved in the concept of emergency preparedness and began to teach classes on food storage. This led to teaching classes across the United States to church members and non-church members and eventually having my classes available on BYU tv and a dvd called Sensible Food Storage. These classes were always on a volunteer basis and the information has always been free. I feel strongly that being prepared for an emergency is a valuable and important step everyone should take.
