Hi I'm Jacob Nuttall!

I was born and raised in California. I am on my way to study Physics at BYU Provo. I am a returned missionary. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a returned missionary from California. I served a two year mission in Calgary, Canada speaking Spanish. Eh? Yeah, there are Spanish people there! I had a great experience and I grew closer to the Savior Jesus Christ through my challenges. I am on my way to study at Brigham Young University in the summer (starting June 23rd) and I will be studying physics. Yes, I do enjoy math and I find it interesting! I get excited about seeing how the gospel principles can be found everywhere, which is one evidence to me that they are true. The most important thing I have learned in my life is that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I try to act with this knowledge at all times, everywhere, and I do my best to help others too. I know that we are all God's children and that he is here to help us in our struggles. I saw this especially in my mission. Sometimes, to feel that, we have to reach out in faith to Him so that He is able to lift us. I know that He exists and that we can feel His love through His Spirit. It's wonderful!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know he was a prophet because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith translated it by the gift and power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because when we read it it invites us to come unto the Savior, do good deeds, be good people, and believe in God and trust in the Bible. One particular part of the Book of Mormon which taught me this is written by a prophet named Mormon. He writes, "But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God." (Moroni 7:13). I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and I know the Bible to be the word of God as long as it is translated correctly. I have seen blessings in my life as I have followed the counsel in these sacred books and they have been a constant source of inspiration and direction. I have come closer to the Savior by applying the teachings in these books. That is the biggest reason why I am a Mormon, because I have learned about and become more like the Savior through these wonderful books of scripture.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through daily prayer, scripture study, and thinking on the Savior. I try to do the things that He did and, though I know I am not perfect, I do my best to repent and become more like Him. Sometimes it is hard and challenging to do and at times I questioned my faith, but as I have trusted in the Lord he has always fulfilled his promises he has made. I know that He loves us, so I do my best to love Him. I think about how I am a son of God and a missionary, and I try to live by those things. I attend church, I go to the temple, keep the commandments as best I can, and strive to live a more rich, joyful life.

What is faith?

Jacob Nuttall!
Faith in God is to have the trust that, even though you may not know why or how something is, if you keep searching and pondering you will receive an answer to your question, whatever that question may be (Moroni 10:4-5). Show more Show less
