Hi I'm Richard Seely

Grew up in Utah. I love Technology. Love the Lord even more. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I lived in several different places in Utah. I enjoy the company of friends and family. I am a self described geek and I'm not afraid to admit it. I have wonderful leaders who help me through life. I'm currently serving as a full time missionary for the church in the wonderful New England area.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church, but the last few months (Oct 2014-Feb 2015) have been a testimony builder for me. Seeing the primary children as they come to understand the gospel and why they are a part of it has reinforced my desire to be a curious child in the eyes of the Lord, always seeking out the truth and never being satisfied with a simple answer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by giving deciated service to all those around me. I read the scriptures and seek to understand them. And I "Endure to the end" by applying the principles that I have learned over my years. I also currently live my faith by devoting two years of my life to share with others the things that I have learned for myself.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Richard Seely
No, not by any means are we required to serve a mission, but the Lord has asked us to serve a full and honorable mission. That means that we go into the world as Elders (or Sisters) and teach for 2 years (18 months for sister missionaries) and teach everyone who will receive the gospel. We could be spending that time furthering education or our careers, but we willingly give that time to the Lord and we are glad to do so. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Richard Seely
We believe in the same organization of the church in Christ's day, the Apostles have the same purpose and that is to declare the word of God. We also believe that Jesus Christ continues to direct His church from above, and means that the church won't be led astray, and that vacanies in the quorum will be filled in his due time. What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Richard Seely
We believe Bible to be the word of God, we also believe that the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price to be the words of God as well, The Book of Mormon being another testament of Jesus Christ, the Doctrine and Covenants being the revelations of modern day prophets, and the Pearl of Great Price being a selection of revelations, translations, and writings of Joseph Smith. How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Richard Seely
First you can contact our official representatives on this site by clicking on the chat bubble above. You can also request a missionary visit from the main page. More than likely, you may have a friend who is Mormon and you can ask them. Or you could stop the well-dressed missionaries that might be walking down the street. There is a multitude of ways that you can learn more! Show more Show less
