Hi I'm Becks

I am the 7th child in a family of 10, a college student, soon to be missionary, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 7th child in a family of 10, and I absolutely love it. My siblings are my best friends and I would rather be with them than anything else. I am currently a college student studying Hospitality Management. Like most college students, I'm not so sure that is what i want to do. Ultimately I think i would like to be a Professional Organizer. However, at this moment I am putting my college education on hold after a semester. After many trips to the temple, falling to my knees in prayer and searching the scriptures for an answer as to what to do with my life, I decided to serve a mission. I have been called to serve a mission in Brazil. I stopped living the life I loved, but I know it will be worth it because I want to show other's what brings me happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is true. The things that are taught are the things that bring happiness into my life. It is a light that is never ending. Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and without him, life is hard. I know that when I follow Jesus Christ, life is easier. The Book of Mormon testifies of truth. How can something like The Book of Mormon not come from God? It teaches of Christ, it testifies of Christ, and there is no way something that magnificent and good can come from anywhere else other than God. I know that Joseph Smith was led by our loving Heavenly Father in order to restore the true gospel on the earth again. I am grateful for this knowledge, I love this gospel, I love my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In my ward I was often asked to help others with their family history. There are so many resources online now that make it possible to find out more about our ancestors. I love helping others discover the many ways to find out more about their family. There is also a program called indexing, where we are able to help get information from documents into these programs online. There is something about connecting families together and seeing the light in people's eyes as they learn more and more about their ancestors. The temple is also a very important part of family history in the LDS church, and that is the part I love most of all.
