Hi I'm Melissa

I love reading, adventures, nature, flute, and family. I am preparing to serve a mission in Hermosillo, Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently at school studying music performance. I absolutely love music! I also like to read, hike, play the flute, travel, eat, and go on adventures. I am preparing to serve my mission in Hermosillo, Mexico. I can't wait to serve the people there! I am the 4th child of 6, and love spending my time with my 3 amazing brothers and 2 sisters. I love my family, the beautiful mountains where we live, and I love the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It sounds quite simple because it is. I know there is nothing in this life that could bring me more joy than the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was born and raised in the gospel, so I never had to find it for myself. I will be forever grateful for this knowledge I have been gifted with from birth. I was raised by loving parents who nurtured me in the gospel, which brought strength and protection to our home, as it still does to this day. My testimony has only been strengthened day to day as I have opened my eyes to the many blessings around me, and have seen the hand of a loving Heavenly Father in every aspect of my life. I know that I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother, and that they watch over each and every one of their children on this earth. They share in our triumphs and our sorrows, and yearn for the day when we will return home to them. I know I have a Heavenly brother, Jesus Christ, who atoned for my sins so that I will never be left alone. He has suffered all that I have and will suffer, as he has suffered for the sins of all who have and will live on this earth. I love Him and am forever indebted for his sacrifice. I know that He was crucified and resurrected, that we one day may follow in His footsteps and be resurrected to a perfect form. I love and sustain Thomas S. Monson as our living prophet today, and the only man holding authority to receive revelation for children of God on the earth today. I sustain the apostles. I know that these men are called of God to lead and guide us through muddled ideals of our world. I love the Book of Mormon for the further guidance it gives us in our lives. I know that it is still applicable to our lives today, and that if we follow the principles within we will find further happiness and come closer to God. I know that I will return to my loving Heavenly parents one day, and that I will be reunited and sealed with my family for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly striving to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. The world we live in makes this hard, but I have found the key to enduring is always having a smile on my face and looking forward with faith. I strive my hardest to be an example of this, and to always be a standard of my faith. I yearn to be a public follower, rather than a private one, and to share my beliefs in an open, friendly manner.
