Hi I'm Kjel

I was born and raised in Idaho. I love to rock climb, canoe, and dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to a year of college at BYU-Idaho. I like to be outside in the mountains, forest, or desert, just where I'm away from the city and noise of the world. I like to spend time with my family playing board games or Frisbee. There are nine children in my family so whenever we are all together it is a party! We are big into scouting. There are five boys in my family and so far the three oldest have earned all the merit badges that were possible. We love to try new things and go on adventures!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were members of the LDS Church. I have been raised seeing the miracles and blessings it brings. When my sister was four years she old got really sick. My parents rushed her to the hospital where they found out that her liver and intestines had some serious problems. She was in line to get a transplant but was not expected to live very much longer. She was given a priesthood blessing and many prayers were said on her behalf. Several months later after several surgeries and a transplant she was able to come home. However she did not stay well. From age four to sixteen she had three transplants and years in the hospital. In her seventeenth year she was put once again on the list to get her fourth transplant. But she did not make it this time. After holding it together for twelve years of sickness she finally passed away. You may wonder why I believe in God after this? Where were the blessing and miracles if she still died? They were everywhere. We were able to keep our house, I was never hungry, Christmas still came, and I knew I was loved. The only reason I and my family made it was because God was carrying us. And He gave us the greatest gifts of all. I got to live with my sister for twelve years and because of Jesus Christ I can live with her for eternity.

How I live my faith

Everyday I wake up and say a prayer asking for help and guidance from God to help me in my day. As I go throughout my day I either at work, at school or while I am driving I think of God and what He wants me to do. I am now preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called to serve in the Houston Texas South mission where I will soon go and give two years of my life to the Lord. I will be paying to be there but all my time and effort will be dedicated to bringing souls to Christ.
