Hi I'm Melissalynn

I grew up in the heart of Fruitvale, which is a beautiful lush village. I love nature, books, and laughing. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a conscious entrepreneur, a refined hippie, an artist, and a model. I love the boho chic style. I love to collect natural beauties from the earth, and I am fascinated with the study of the mind, body, and soul. I am soon to be a ambassador of Christ, and I am a Mormon. I like to call myself a conscious entrepreneur. This quest started about five years ago when I started having seizures. These seizures left me being unable to talk, move, nor comprehend what had happened. I was totally helpless. I was in high school at this time but because of the frequencies of the seizures I could no longer attend. It was a long journey of figuring out why I was having seizures, but after two years the medical field diagnosed me with non-epileptic seizures. Because of this diagnosis they removed me off of anti-seizures drugs but I was still having seizures! I was even told to live a normal life? So now I was being home schooled with next to no social life because I was being hospitalized every weekend. My life was so upside down and depressing. Out of desperation we decided to seek the help of Naturopathic medicine. Needless to say we had a very good Naturopath Doc who literally nursed my body back from non-functioning to healthy over a course of two years. I am forever grateful to her - and my Savior which I know lead me to her. Thus experience changed my life to having more gratitude for my family, and more spiritual awareness of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel by my mother who always happened to be by my side serving a calling in Primary, Young Women's, and Relief Society. It was her personal goal to make sure that I always had a good experience - and I did. I was and still am blessed to have a father who supports me in all my religious decisions. And all older siblings who have been great examples of faith to me. It wasn't until my teen years where I truly questioned my beliefs, but after I accepted the ten day challenge from my brother I gained a stronger testimony. The ten day challenge is when you read the Book of Mormon in ten days! When I diligently read the Book of Mormon with sincere prayer, I got my answer through personal revelation. But as of lately with all of my life experiences I have come to fully love the Savior and His great plan for us. It makes me so happy and feel so special. I am truly blessed to know of this truth. I am so excited to share this gospel as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

In between my trials of health I started a career in modeling. Everyone said it was the perfect job for me seeing how I had the right body type and look. I just loved the world of fashion so it came easy to me. It also appealed to me because of the pampering lifestyle, well paid job, and you get to travel. But when I found myself experiencing the model life I was uncomfortable most of the time. I didn't always feel pretty, valued, or even good enough. Though their were moments when I did feel beautiful I realized that this was feeding my ego and not my soul. I stopped modeling because I realized there are more important things to advertise than fashion, beauty, and certain body types. I've learned that society only has room for a select few, but in comparison to God, He has room for all. This gospel teaches us that we all are beautiful, accepted, loved, and cherished sons and daughters of God. That individuality is important and not discriminated. This love that Jesus Christ has for each and everyone of us is soul filling. His love changes us and molds us into our greatest potential to become eternal beings and to live with Him again. Quoting from the book The Science of Mind by Ernst Holmes, "There is no man ever lived who valued the human soul more than Jesus, for he knew it to be the personification of God." From this knowledge I always feel beautiful, loved, valued, and cherished for the individual that I am. And from this testimony I strive to help build up the Kingdom of God, as I will soon be serving a full time mission in Halifax. So how do I live my faith? I decided to become a model for Christ and not for the world.
