Hi I'm Harrison

I've grown up in Australia, in the church. I've played many sports including Football & Volleyball. I'm a Mormon, and I love it!

About Me

I have been a member of the church my whole life. My parents and brothers have also been in the church their whole lives as well. I love my sport! And I follow a lot of sports including Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, but I only play Football, and used to play Volleyball through my school years. Some of my life's best achievements have happened in the sporting arena, whether it has been winning Grand Finals to meeting so many people and friends through various tournaments across Australia that I have played in! My friends are of great importance to me. Its so crucial to have friends, and good friends around you, so you have that support you need, coz at times, family may not be enough! It is important for me that i trust my friends, and be happy around them, because that thens helps them to trust me in return! The church in my life has been a great help to me because it has given me the direction I need to be able to make the best choices for me in my life. Its important to remember we all make mistakes, and no one is perfect, but the most perfect thing we can do is putting in the effort to be perfect!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and growing up there came a time when i realised that i couldnt rely on Mum and Dad's testimony and there faith anymore to get me to church... And so i made it a key to me that i had to know what they were teaching me was right, and that them getting me to church was right also... and i learnt that from an experience where I was sick on a Sunday, and couldnt go to church, and it just felt that something was missing the next day when i hadnt been at church... And so from that time forth I have seen that the key to staying active in the church, and why I am a Mormon is because I know that what i have been brought up learning is the truth, and i cant deny that. Going to church is the best and easiest way to remain strong in the gospel... As long as we live what we learn also!! I have been to activities when i was younger where leaders of the church would say that on average, there would be a few of the close friends around you that will one day leave the church, they might come back, we dont know, and they would constantly warn us of giving in to temptation... And my friends and I always thought we wouldnt have any problems... However, as it was told to us, unfortunately one of my closest friends eventually went inactive because he stopped coming on a Sunday to church, and he didnt put in the effort to attend. Even though it is a sad experience to see a friend go through that... when I know that they know whats right... its helped me to see the importance of making an effort to get to church on a Sunday!! Im a Mormon because I know its the right thing, Ive felt it, Ive seen it, because Ive learnt from experience and acted on my feelings. I know the church is true!

How I live my faith

It is important that when you have a faith or a belief, that you live it... Thats one of the things I have tried my best to do, and that is to be honest in all of my dealings, serving others wherever I am needed! In my ward I have had many roles and responsibilities including during church hours and also out of church. I have been a Deacons Quorum President, Teachers Quorum Counsellor, and also an Assistant to the Bishop in the Priests Quorum... It has been important to me to see that the best way to be happy and to feel good about what you are doing is when you are helping the others around you to better live their faith, and this in turn helps them, to then help you in others ways you never thought of before! Scripture study and class attendance at church on a Sunday is very important, but it is also almost as important to be able to attend other activities during the week with the same friends you have at church to have a balance... I have seen people fall away because they either pick one or the other, and eventually just dont pick any of them to attend, and it is really sad to see that, especially when you are trying to be a friend to someone as much as possible and they dont see the example or yourself or others.
