Hi I'm Courtney

I have a loving energetic family, I am serving as a missionary in California preaching in Sign Language, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in wonderful Colorado. I enjoy running, riding dirtbikes with my family, hiking, camping, and snowboarding. I live in a family of seven with two amazing parents, two sweet older sisters, and two energetic younger brothers. I am the middle child, so at times things were crazy, but I have enjoyed every second of it. My family means the absolute world to me and I would do anything for them. I currently just graduated high school and am preparing to serve my mission. I will be leaving in July for the San Fernando California Mission using ASL. I am so very thankful for the opportunity that I have to go and serve.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? It's not because my parents are Mormon and it's not because my siblings are Mormon... it's because I know with every fiber of my being that this church is true. I have never been happier in my life than when I am abiding by the principles of this wonderful gospel. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that He wants the best for me. I know that I was sent here to Earth for a divine purpose. When something in your life means so much to you, you just can't help but want to share that truth, light, and joy with others. I am a Mormon because of my faith and because of my knowledge of the Savior. I am a Mormon because I know it, I live it, and I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my actions. I am constantly trying to be better and improve, so that I can come closer to Christ. I want to be able to be an example to others and help to lift them up when they are struggling. It is my hope and my prayer that through my actions, that others will be able to feel the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for them. I live my faith by showing charity to others, for loving them and caring for them despite any weaknesses or challenges that they are experiencing. Praying, reading my scriptures, and going to church are a few of the ways that I am trying to increase my faith; however, the time when I feel closest to Christ is when I am out serving others. I love people, I love this gospel, and I am so excited to be able to share it with other people.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Courtney
I know that each of us need a Savior because none of us are perfect. We all make mistakes and we all have times in this life where we fall short, but that's ok. We were never meant to be perfect in this life. It is just all about continually trying to improve. Perfection is a direction, and as long as we are working towards that goal and trying as hard as we can in this life, that is all Heavenly Father asks for. Still, no unclean thing can live in the presence of God, so the Savior provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins so that one day, we can return and live with him in Heaven again.
