Hi I'm Elder Wharton

I am a basic individual. I am an avid spelunker. I am a dirt bike racer. I love wearing nametags. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am now on a special sojourn in mortality. I got my earth-suit in the summer of 1989. I think I have experienced a lot of stuff and things in my young life. I love people. I am passionate about helping others to find their way. My most earnest endeavor is to feel the Spirit of the Lord as much as possible. I know a little bit about a lot of things and consider myself to be handy. I love my extraordinary family dynamic. I feel that everything has a purpose. I freebord, skateboard, snowboard, longboard, wakeboard, and someday I'll surfboard. I started racing dirt bikes when I was about 12 years old. I am currently serving in the Alaska Anchorage Mission. I just love roasting s'mores. I recently learned how to be crafty with my hands. I crochet.

Why I am a Mormon

Myself and my six other biological siblings were adopted to my cousin's family when I was twelve. We now altogether make an even ten. I fit right in the middle. My younger years wear spent about half the time with my biological parents and the other half in various foster homes. I was baptized a member of the church when I was eight years old. However I never knew much about the church because I only attended when responsible parental guides would take me with them. I eventually came to the point in my life where I needed to know for myself if the Lord had indeed restored His church to the earth. I read the Book of Mormon at a very crucial time in my life. I gained a powerful testimony of the divinity of the Book of Mormon and the hands of the Prophet Joseph Smith which translated this volume of holy scripture. I truly believe that mortal-life is just as much about getting lost as it is about getting found.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continually striving to learn all I can about Jesus Christ. I figure if I am to be a disciple of Him, I must know who He is so I can do my best to be like Him. I go to church every Sunday. Right now I feel very blessed to be serving on a mission in the last frontier. I know very well that there are only two kinds of influence in the world. We can choose to share an influence for good or we can choose to share an influence for harm. It's simple, everyday when I wake up I choose that I will serve the Lord and share an influence for good with all whom I come in contact with.
