Hi I'm Colton Watmough

I grew up in a small town in southern Alberta. I'm a nationally ranked archer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love hunting, reading various sci-fi and fantasy books. I spent a year at th Uof L as a chem major, but I am unsure if I want to continue that. I also enjoy playing video games.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and as I grew up I started realizing the need for commandments like the word of wisdom as I witnessed the stupid things that people did and experienced when they were under the influence of a drug or alcohol. After my parents got divorced I realized that I did not truly know whether or not the church was true. At that moment I knew that I had to find out the truth for myself, so I started reading the Book of Mormon from cover to cover including the introduction and the testimonies. I prayed to the Lord both before and after each time I read. My answer did not come until I read Helaman 5 which ends on page 380. After I finished reading that chapter I suddenly knew that the Book of Mormon was true. The feeling was like flipping a light switch and finding a huge pile of gold in the middle of the room! It was a feeling of pure joy and happiness that cannot be fully described. The only way to get a remote idea of how it feels is to feel it for yourself. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that Christ our Savior lives and loves us. Lastly I know that if we are righteous and faithful we can live with our families and our Heavenly Father forever in heaven.

How I live my faith

Well I am going on a mission soon. I've previously served as a home teacher I enjoyed talking with the families I was assigned to teach and it gave me experience that will prove useful on my mission.
