Hi I'm Mykell Valentina Jeppesen

I'm a Texan. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four girls. My mom and dad were divorced when I was 8 years old. I became a manager of a Chick-Fil-A right after high school and I loved my job. I had to leave in order to attend college at BYU-I. I absolutely love school. It is such a great experience. I am currently a Communications Major with an emphasis is Public Relations. I love music. My favorite genre is Indie right now. I played the clarinet for a little over 8 years. I also really love hiking!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were divorced when I was 8 years old and I lived with my mom. She was a convert to the church with a wonderful testimony. While continuing to learn and grow, my mom became one of the biggest influences in my desire to gain testimony of the gospel. She has so much strength and I wanted to be like her. I decided I wanted to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Being the first in my family, I wanted to be an example to my younger sisters and an example to my nonmember family.I received my call to the Brazil Fortaleza East mission and I am so excited to serve. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ so much. I have seen His hand in my life. He is there for us in times of need and wants us to come unto Him. I cannot wait to serve my mission to serve the people of Brazil and help them to find the light and truth that comes from this restored gospel. I have seen the atonement work in my life and seen the blessings that have come to me. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us all so much. We are sons and daughters of Him and He wants us to return back to Him.

How I live my faith

Ever since I was little, I participated in church activities. As I grew up, I became a leader in my young women's callings. I loved being able to be a leader to other young women because it came so naturally and I wanted the younger girls to always have someone to look up to. When I graduated high school, I attended the Young Single Adult Branch for my stake. I was able to serve as a branch missionary and a teacher for the women. My favorite calling was ward missionary because I had wanted to serve a mission and this was the closet I could get to it at the time. I was able to go teaching with the sister missionaries many times. I loved the experience and joy I was able to see in others when we were able to teach the gospel. This was something I had always wanted to share. When I had left for college, I was given the calling as a Family Home Evening Group Leader, which has been an extremely fun calling. I get to plan the lessons and games that we have with a group of 18 single adults for every Monday night. It has been such a blast.
