Hi I'm Lisa

I grew up in Utah, USA. I stay home and take care of my small children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I got my undergraduate degree in marriage, family, and human development and my masters degree in Business Administration. I worked for a long time in the insurance and Human Resource industries. I enjoyed a successful career, but I was never more excited to use my knowledge and experience than in fulfilling my current job of staying home and nurturing my three small children. I'm a mother of twins, which adds to the difficulty, as well as the fun, of having such a responsibility.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Jesus Christ. I know that He is our Savior and Redeemer. I am so grateful for all He has done for me. My parents and grandparents (as well as past generations) were all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so I was taught about the truths of the gospel from a young age. However, that is not why I am a member today. I have studied the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible. I have pondered on the things I have read and been taught. I have prayed to know the truth, and I have received my own witness that both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are of God. I have also prayed about the need of prophets, and have gained my own witness of Joseph Smith and of living prophets on the earth today. As I have studied the words of the scriptures, I have come to recognize the happiness and the peace that we can gain as we read and learn about the Savior. I know that He is the only way that we can be saved. I love Him and want to follow Him and become better. I am a Mormon, because I know it is true. It is of God. I have that witness, and I know God will also give that witness to you, if you ask sincerely with an open heart and mind.

How I live my faith

My husband serves as the Bishop of our ward or congregation. This requires quite a bit of time for him to be away from our young family, but I love the opportunities of service it gives our family. I know that we are very blessed despite the sacrifices that we make. I'm grateful my husband is willing and able to serve. I serve in the church by teaching Sunday School as part of our church meetings on Sunday. We are currently studying the New Testament, so I really enjoy the time that I get to study and prepare to teach about the life of my Savior Jesus Christ. I also try to find time each week to do family history or attend the Temple, which is close by our home. I enjoy serving and helping those around us as much as possible.
