Hi I'm Jacom

I grew up in Oregon. I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play tennis, soccer, volleyball, football, ping-pong, baseball, basketball, and pretty much any sport with a ball (besides lacrosse). I also enjoy spending time outside - rain or shine - hiking, biking, walking, or just relaxing. I am a student at BYU, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and I hope to design and build airplanes. I love to play the piano and the guitar, and I enjoy singing as well. Besides that, I love to hang out with friends, playing games, or just chatting.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but like many people, I wondered if it was true for a while. I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know if it was true, and I felt that it was true, but it still took a while for my testimony to grow. One important time for me was a prayer to know if Heavenly Father really would forgive me if I repented, and I felt such a feeling of love that I knew that God loves me. Over the years, I have continued to act on those first feelings, and I have continued to feel my testimony grow, little by little. I now know with all my heart that it is true, and that Jesus Christ lives and loves us more than we know.

How I live my faith

In my student ward, I help teach lessons and call teachers for other classes. I also home teach several members of my ward, and I enjoy talking with them and helping them out with anything they need. A few years ago I planted a garden at my elementary school for the students there to have hands-on experiences with nature as part of my Eagle Scout project.
