Hi I'm Shirley M Williams

I grew up in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. I'm looking forward to serving my next mission in California!

About Me

I am the third generation of members of the LDS church in my family. My ancestors converted to the church while living in England and Denmark and settled in Southern Alberta. I grew up near Cardston Alberta where I met, and later married my sweetheart, Kay Williams. Together we raised 4 children and now have 16 grandchildren. We served two missions together and were married for 50 years. I am excited to be called on my third mission to Oakland/San Francisco, California, in the spring of 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to get a good start to my mortal life by being born in the church. In fact, it all started three generations ago with the conversion of my grandparents. Being raised in a small L.D.S. community made it easy for me to enjoy being a Mormon and associating with mostly Mormon friends. As I had opportunities to serve, my testimony was strengthened and I realized I knew that the church was true. What a wonderful direction and protection it is to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had a wonderful life in serving in the church . My faith has been strengthened by gaining knowledge through serving in the various church organizations. I love reading my scriptures daily and know this gives me the direction I need. There are constantly opportunities to serve my friends and neighbors and attend the temple which builds my faith in the Kingdom of God. We live in such an wonderful time when I can go to an Institute class weekly and have access to church literature. I believe that living my faith is not a Sunday situation only, but it is something I enjoy every day while walking with my Savior.
