Hi I'm Diane

I live in Utah. I am a registered nurse. My best accomplishment - 7 grown children and 28 grandchildren. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read and I love learning new things. I graduated from Nursing at the age of 50 and worked for 8 years as an RN. After that I lived in Tokyo Japan for a short time while serving a mission. I learned to love the Japanese people and their customs. I have 7 wonderful children who are all grown and raising families of their own. I have 28 grandchildren between the ages of 1-18 years. They are what I prize the most.

Why I am a Mormon

Most of my grandparents joined the church in the mid 1800's. They were well acquainted with the Prophet Joseph Smith. Many traveled on foot about 2000 miles from the Eastern states to Utah. I feel so blessed that they loved the gospel and made so many sacrifices in order to worship according to their desires. The gospel holds all the answers I have ever needed in my life. I love it and believe it with my whole heart. It brings me comfort and peace and gives me direction. It teaches me of my Father in Heaven and of my Savior Jesus Christ. and of their great love for all of us. The Atonement is a very real part of my life and I feel blessed that it is possible for me to repent when necessary. I feel the security of knowing Christ's doctrines and of keeping the commandments. It is a very satisfying and freeing feeling. I am blessed every day by being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the present time I am teaching a Sunday School class aged 16 and 17. They are such a fun group of teenagers. I don't know who is learning the most- me or them. I live on a street of aged neighbors. Most of my neighbors have lived here about 38 years. I love visiting my neighbors and caring for their needs. We have such dear feelings for one another. I do quite a bit of child care with my grandchildren living close. Each Sunday we get together as a family for dinner and a short visit to catch-up on each others lives. We pray together- That is the hi-light of my week.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Diane
A testimony is knowing through inspiration of the Holy Spirit that we have a literal Father in Heaven who loves each of us, that Jesus Christ is our personal Savior and Redeemer. It is know that the true gospel was restored to earth by the prophet Joseph Smith and that we are led today by a prophet who receives direction from Jesus Christ. It is to believe in your heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true and living gospel of Jesus Christ. I have come to know these things by the peaceful. reassuring feelings that I receive as I live the teachings of the church. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Diane
The Holy Ghost is a gift given by our Father in Heaven to help His children while in this mortal life. The Holy Ghost is my most prized possession . It is like having a trusted friend at your side. I have found that the Holy Ghost leads me to truth. I can recognize truth by the warm, peaceful feeling that I get in my heart and mind. He comforts me when I am discouraged or when I mourn. There have been times when He has warned me when danger is near. It is through His inspiration that I know that my Father in Heaven lives and loves me; that Jesus Christ was the Savior of all mankind. I feel His protection and influence if I strive to live worthy of the blessing. I love John Chapter 14 where during the Last Supper, Jesus Christ tells his disciples of the gift that they are going to receive, namely the Holy Ghost. He tells them that he will not leave them comfortless, that He will send the Holy Ghost to teach them all things Show more Show less
