Hi I'm Whitney S.

My passion is the beauty industry. I am a video game fanatic. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate, who graduated with a degree in beauty industry merchandising and marketing. When I'm not watching Youtube videos of people playing video games or doing makeup tutorials, I'm doing things to prepare myself for my mission. I love playing with my cat and learning about new and interesting things, but above all I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the peace and comfort it gives me.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a Mormon. I was born into the church, but not raised with the principles taught and certainly not active for most of my childhood. My grandparents have always been the facilitators of the gospel to my sisters and I, even making sure that each of us was baptized at the appropriate age, that we had rides to church if we wanted them, and that we knew that they knew the church was true. Still, it was up to us individually if we lived the gospel or not. We didn't for most of the time, not that we were particularly bad children. For a while in high school I consistently went to church, had a calling as a president for my youth group (laurels), and lived the gospel fully. It wasn't long before I fell away and became inactive. A couple years later, in college, my grandparents contacted my ward in the new area I was in. The bishop and a few members came and let me know they were there for me. For the next year on and off I would attend church meetings. One Thanksgiving break spent visiting my grandparents yielded a spiritual moment that left a strong impression on my mind. After that I made an effort to make sure I always attended church and read my scriptures, so that I could be closer to my Heavenly Father. A few months later I made the decision to serve a mission for my church. I love the members of this church, I love the teachings of this church, and I love what it does for me. Those are a few reasons I am a Mormon. However, the main reason I am a Mormon is because this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and I love him and will follow him until he tells me to stop (which won't happen). I am a Mormon because I want to return to my Heavenly Father and live with him for all time and eternity.

How I live my faith

I sit in church every sunday to take the sacrament, listen to the talks prepared by the speakers, and to feel the spirit. Every other Wednesday I would prepare activities for the young girls in my ward, but I have recently been called to represent the young single adults in the ward (which involves getting them more involved in activities going on). I do my best to visit teach my sisters each month to let them know I am thinking of them and that they are cared for.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Whitney S.
The Book of Mormon is the keystone of our faith. It is another testament of Jesus Christ and his ministry on Earth. Without it the whole reason for the church's existence is invalid and irrelevant. It's truthfulness is revealed to those who read it in sincerity and ask our Heavenly Father if it is true. Show more Show less
