Hi I'm Madelyn

I'm from Utah. I study psychology. I will be serving in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a born-and-raised American. I love to sing! I believe music is a great way to touch and change lives. I would happily read for the rest of my life. I enjoy reading books that leave you thinking long after it's over. I love expanding my view on the world and getting a feel for how others live and perceive the world. Being outdoors--especially in the mountains--is my refuge! There is nothing better to me than being out in the sunshine! I am currently a college student, aspiring to become a social psychologist. I also hope to become a wife and mother one day.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is more than just my beliefs; it's who I am. My family has been members of the LDS church for many, many years. I was raised in the church by faithful and dedicated parents. I haven't had one of those "all of a sudden" moments where I suddenly became converted to the church. I have felt the truth of the gospel throughout my entire life. I have had both large and simple experiences that have contributed to my conversion. I am a Mormon because I know that when I pray, He hears me. I can pray to God for guidance and peace, and somehow, someway, sometime I will be given what I need. I am a Mormon because living the gospel brings an undeniable peace to my life. I am never happier than when I am following God. I am a Mormon because I trust in Christ's Atonement. Christ has felt every pain, sorrow, and heartbreak we ever have and ever will experience. Because of His Atonement, I don't feel alone. I am a Mormon because I know that I can improve myself each day to become better. I am a Mormon because I know that I am a daughter of God, who has a Heavenly Father who loves me.

How I live my faith

As a teenager, I grew up helping with many youth events for the church, especially for the young women. Each summer the young women go camping. This is a time to learn skills, build friendships, and strengthen our faith. I have had the privilege to attend as a youth, as well as come as a leader for the younger girls. I have also loved helping organize and conduct the music every Sunday at church. I am a (almost) missionary! I will be leaving my family, friends, and school behind for 18 months to serve as a missionary for the church. This is an amazing opportunity where I will get to serve and teach others about the truths of our loving Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.
