Hi I'm Austin

I grew up in South Jordan and Riverton Utah. I'm an outdoor, ice hockey, and travel enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Anything to do with the outdoors I love. Fishing, hiking, camping, ATV's, you name it. Above all though, i'm a hardcore archery hunter and have been very fortunate to travel around the country in pursuit of different game species. My current obsession is whitetail deer. I love going out to the Midwest with my dad to bow hunt and manage and improve habitat for wildlife on farms in Missouri and Iowa. I also love modern, urban things like technology and tinkering with computers. I love to follow the latest and greatest gadgets to come out and see how the world advances from them. I am a foodie and love to try foods from a variety of cultures. To go with that, I love to travel and I hope to travel around the world someday. I love art and history and discovering the hidden gems of a culture wherever I go. I have only been a couple of times, but i am hooked on surfing and snowboarding and am excited to pursue those new hobbies more. I love ice hockey and played for many years growing up. Go Hawks! I have attended college at Utah State University and look forward to returning after serving a mission to finish up my degree.

Why I am a Mormon

This church has a happiness that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. I have been lucky to be able to see and do so many things that have given me happiness, but that happiness is hollow and only temporary. I would give it all away in a second if it were necessary to follow Christ and this (his) church. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this the one and only true church on the face of the earth today and that joy that is felt here comes from Jesus Christ and God our Heavenly Father. Since becoming active in this church I have a sure knowledge that there is more in the grand scheme of things than just this current life and for that I know that I can progress and live with God and Jesus Christ again someday through the atonement made by Jesus Christ. Because of his payment for the sins of the world and his death and resurrection for all mankind, I know I will someday be reunited with grandparents and siblings that have passed on and that anyone can come unto Christ no matter their background and be cleansed from pains and sins of the past. God and Jesus Christ's love is perfect and sufficient for all. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he truly saw the father and the son and the true church was restored through him. Joseph smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power of god and the words found therein testify of Christ like the Bible and that it is the most powerful and truthful book on this earth. I know that this church is still true to this day and President Thomas S. Monson was called and given power and authority by god to witness of him and his son. Though life is still tough at times, from what I've learned and gained from this church makes those frustrations minimal and my burdens are much smaller. I know that Christ knows all our pains and frustrations and can make them light if we come closer to him. Through this church is the way to truly follow him and find the ultimate joy that he wants all of God's children to have.

How I live my faith

I will be serving a mission in McAllen, Texas and have previously held positions as a ward missionary at home in Utah. I love to spread Jesus Christ's message of hope and love and try my best to hopefully make this world a little bit better place to live in everyday for someone.
