Hi I'm Cathelène Dechesne

I'm French, I love Asian culture, I love drawing, I LOVE music and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Like most French people, I'm a true lover of Art. Drawing, listening music and singing are my main hobbies and my passions! I especially love listen, and sing in different languages like English, Japanese, Korean and more! As many people, I met with Manga, Anime, and J-Pop and K-Pop in my teenage years. Since then, I find a great pleasure in learning about Asians's culture, like monuments, landscape, music, art and languages. I speak currently French, Spanish and English, and planning to learn Korean or Japanese as well!

Why I am a Mormon

After meeting the missionaries, my grandparents converted, get baptized, and became members of the Church. They raised their children in the faith of Christ and later my mother did the same with me and my brothers and sisters. My parents divorced when I was 6 years old. It was a really hard time. My whole world was just falling apart, and I just couldn't understand why it happen. My dad for any reason decided that the LDS Church was not for him anymore, and so with that, and other choices that my parents made... it happen, and that... really hurt. It was the first time in my life that I had to make a hard and important decision! I have to decide if I wanted to live with my mom or with my dad. I was only 6 year old, but I already knew that my choice will affect my future, so with an understanding of an 6 years old girl, I said to my dad : " You know that I love you! I love both of you so much, and I don't understand everything... but mom wants to keep Jesus, so I going to stay with her." I'm really grateful for the choice I've made, because after that, my mom married my step-father, who is a member of the Church, from Madrid, Spain, and with this wonderful choice, the Gospel has always being part of our family. We have trials, like every family, but once we decide to keep Jesus in our life, miracles and blessings happen, and today we are a really happy family. Since that time, I always tried to keep Jesus in my life. I really have a great faith in my Savior, and it have bean tested so many times, and it will be tasted for the rest of my life, but to remember my past experiences and the good choices that I already made really help me to remember who I am and press forward. So, being member of the Church has always being a choice for me, I decided to be a member not because my family ask me to be, or for any pressure, I chosen it, I love my Savior SO MUCH and today I can really say that I'm proud and blessed to be LDS.

How I live my faith

I had many opportunity to serve others! I taught the youth of my ward for a while, and I served with children as well, and right now I'm actually a full-time missionary on Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I'm really grateful to be a missionary in this very particular time of my life, because while serving others by inviting and helping people to come unto Christ, I saw myself being shaped by the Lord, and I'm so blessed and so happy! I'm sure that this experience of 18 month will give me more capacity and more gift and talents to serve, back in France, and it's definitely a grate training as well for my life as an independent women, a wife, a mother, and the person I want to be, because I've learn how to trust God and to be a team with him for any thing I do
