Hi I'm Colt

I wander the mountains, ride like there's no tomorrow, have a 3 point shot like Steph Curry, and speak Cantonese. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated this year! Now I am currently serving a mission in Hong Kong, China. I (used to-now I'm on a mission) date, play sports, have lots of extracurricular activities, and love being outside! I hunt the mountains for big game and fish the streams and rivers for fish along with hiking and camping with family and friends. I enjoy nothing more than being outside. I play soccer as a keeper and also love playing recreation basketball. I will attend college after my mission and can't wait to start my career! I am so grateful for my opportunity to learn Cantonese and serve a mission to the Chinese people. Its hard, but the Lord has blessed me through my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of His church because I want to live with our Heavenly Father and my family for all of eternity. I have seen how this church can effect people. I have personally watched it turn an inmate and friend into a loving and kind missionary. Some people will ask me how I know this is the only true church when I haven't been a part of any other religions, they question my logic and my faith. I KNOW this church is true. I have felt it in my heart and in my very being. I have seen what it can do to others and my family as well as what it can do to myself. Having lived something that makes me truly happy, why would I leave? Why would I leave a religion where an instant camaraderie and love for another individual is felt when you first meet another member. I have felt Christ's atonement in my life. It has enabled me to learn and it has lifted me when I was down. I have become clean through his grace and love. I believe the Plan of Salvation as laid out by God the Father and His son Jesus Christ is the true plan. We will live with our lost loved ones. I know the commandments, word of wisdom, and other guidelines and hard to obey at times, but will bless us immensely through out faith and obedience to their precepts. I know Christ atoned for our sins and pains. I one day will look into his eyes with my resurrected body and will thank him for it. I am a Mormon and I always will be. We live, laugh, love, and serve with one another.

How I live my faith

I live my faith from the small things to the big things. I know Jesus did not just try to be Christian and loving when others were watching. I try to be an example to others in my words and deed. I try to befriend others I might not have befriended in the first place or those that look like they need a friend. I serve in my community in numerous positions. I have been the Chapter Chief of our Order of the Arrow Chapter (Service arm of the BSA), I served as a member of our Seminary Council at our local high school, and perform many acts of service through our young men's group. I have performed service in many factions and am now serving a mission. This is one of the greatest ways I have shown my faith. It is and was so hard to leave my family to go to the BIG city of Hong Kong speaking a language I had never heard before. I love my home and my mountains. The Lord will help me learn the language according to my faith and he has. I never would have guessed I would be speaking as much as I am in an extremely difficult language without him, and that is because of faith. Faith without action is just a good thought.
