Hi I'm Michael Lundgren

I am from Rancho Cucamonga, California. I am a writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California my whole life. I'm currently a college student studying International Relations. I like reading, writing, acting, learning, spending time with friends and family, and living life. I'm a pretty big nerd I guess you can say. I love comic books, board games, video games, and almost anything that you can count in that category. I'm a movie buff, I really enjoy movies. I also love art and music, I don't have a natural talent for it myself, but I'm working on developing some more artistic talents. I also enjoy sports, for example I played football in high school and basketball when I was younger. Acting is something I've always enjoyed doing and I seem to have a bit of a natural ability towards it. It's fun to play a different person. Writing is something I love doing as well and I do it more as a hobby. I like to write stories and come up with different worlds and characters in my mind and then bring them to life on paper. I'm currently working on a novel and considering having it published. I also enjoy just living life and trying new things and having new experiences. I lived in St. Petersburg, Russia for the past 2 years and have had amazing experiences there and learned a lot of lessons and met great and amazing people. And life continues...

Why I am a Mormon

My father is not a member of the church, but when my mother wanted my sister and I to go to church with her, he had no objections, thus I grew up in the church. However there came a point in my life where I needed to know for myself whether or not everything I had been taught growing up was true. So when I was 18 I left the church for three years and lived without it. I studied various religions and ideas about God and the nature of our existence and for three years I wandered. Eventually I came back to what I had learned growing up and I decided to put it to the test. I read the Book of Mormon, and I prayed and asked Heavenly Father if the book was true and if everything I had been taught growing up was true. Describing how I received my answer is very difficult, especially on a computer, but I felt peace of mind and soul and I understood in my mind and in my heart that it was true. This is, by the way, a very brief explanation to how I received my answer. Since then I have continued to study and learn and live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I have grown leaps and bounds because of it. I have also seen through personal experience how the teaching of the church can change people. How the teachings of the church change people from the inside out and their entire lives change for the better because of it. We are not without challenges in life, but the Gospel allows us to face those challenges with hope and faith and to overcome them and become better people because of it. I know that the church is true. That the Book of Mormon is the word of God along with the Bible. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and did in reality see and speak with God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and through him we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again. And that because of him, we all have the opportunity to change each and every day.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full time missionary for the church in Russia. Before this I served as a teacher in the church. I taught a class each Sunday about the basic principles of the church. Personally I try and live my life as best I can by the example of Jesus Christ. I try and provide service where I can and give of my time, talents, and substance as generously as I am able to do. I live my faith by following Jesus Christ's example.
