Hi I'm Rosa

I love classical music, cooking, and hiking. I love all things science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Washington, D.C. area and I'm the youngest of five kids. I've played the flute for ten years and one of my favorite pastimes is obsessing over classical composers. I study sociology at university. In my free time I experiment with new recipes, crochet, and wander around in the woods for exercise. Right now I'm serving a mission in Samara, Russia!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon makes me happy! I love being able to read and find guidance in the Book of Mormon every day. I take comfort in the reassurance that we have Heavenly Parents who love us and want us to become like them. I love that the gospel of Jesus Christ helps us look forward and be open to change. Sometimes in life it's easy to feel like we're trapped staying how we always were. With Christ's help, we can be a little better every day.

How I live my faith

Other than weekly worship services one of my favorite aspects of this church is the opportunity to serve through programs we have like visiting teaching. I love visiting teaching because it provides an amazing outlet for forming close friendships, sisterhood, and serving people who need a little help. I really enjoy learning about women in the scriptures, and constantly find inspiration in women like Deborah, Esther, and Judith. I especially love studying the lives of early Mormon women, like Eliza R. Snow, an outspoken poet and teacher, and Emmeline B. Wells, a journalist, editor, and suffragist. I love the strength and courage these women displayed in serving and making a difference in their own way. It motivates me to try to do the same.
