Hi I'm Christian Carl Rasmussen

I grew up in Walla Walla, Washington. I am a convert and join the church August 20,1971, been serving ever since. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am retired from the Union Pacific Rail Road as a Engineer. I like hunting and fishing and golf. I am a father of 5 girls and have a outstanding wife of 38 years. I love farming and helping other with their work. I have served in leadership for Stake Presidents, Bishops and the members of the ward and stake. I love them dearly. I was in the Military, serving in the Vietnam era. and I am part of a America Legion post for 19 years. I am a American.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 19 because of a friend that was LDS and he was getting ready to go on a mission. He was raising cucumbers to sell so it would pay for his mission so I went over to help. While I was in wheat harvest

How I live my faith

I was on a Hospital District and help by being a liaison between the builders and the district in a new clinic for the community. I was the chairman of the board. I spent a lot of time working with the Bishops and Stake Presidents on finding information and teaching other their duties, enjoying the times working side by side with them and knowing that what we were doing was right. Being taught by apostles and mission leaders that would come and talk with us at our meetings. Having great fun with the members of our ward with parties and Temple trips for the youth as well as for adults . Home teaching families and getting them activated , loving them all the way. Giving of myself and filling that I was doing right.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Christian Carl Rasmussen
The welfare service of the church is to care for the poor and needy and to teach the members self-reliance. The program is to help the member keep there heads held high and to give them respect that they need in hard times. This is not a dole system they work for what they get. It is a help up not a help out. Show more Show less

How does the Church finance its operations?

Christian Carl Rasmussen
The Church operates on the funds they get from tithing. Tithing is a system that improves the life of members that are willing to give back a little of what the Lord has given them. Even though it is not need by the Lord. It makes us proud that we can help the church grow and the blessing are more than you can hope for. The church does so much positive with the revenue that if we all follow the example from paying tithing for our households we would be better off. Show more Show less
